With the low pressure turbo... you have the basic rotors that are easy to replace.
In the US, the front EBC pads are $85, and a pair of Zimmerman front basic rotors are $86.
So if you stick with the stock pads, perhaps you need new pads and rotors after $20K. So you get the new rotors and EBC's then for $171US plus shipping etc.
If you get the EBC pads now, you are out $85 plus shipping. And lets assume the pads last 40-60K just for argument sake.
So Spend $85 now or $171 in year or so.
I think that it is clear that you really can't live with the OEM Ate pads.
With the Aero, the rotors are 2 or 3 times more expensive and clearly there is an overwhelming argument to preserve the expensive rotors.
It you do a lot of city driving, there will be a lot of wear. If you drive in the mountains or foothills, all the worse.
So thats the way it looks to me. And some will go nuts about the brake dust and change the pads just on that factor alone. There are other low dust pads available. Perhaps someone will post these and sources.
When I changed my front pads after 160 miles, my front wheels were a real mess. Even my wife noticed!
