I had a 98 2.3 se, and 100k miles as a company car, bought my own 2002 Aero sedan/Auto +all the toys new here in the UK last year - a great motor, vastly improved over the 98 - handling/performance/build quality. I did 25k+ miles in 15 months and traded it for a 2003 Aero Sedan/Auto all the toys except Satnav and just 4 miles on the clock.
I'm amazed to find that the 2003 model having the outward appearance of new door mirrors/sentronic transmission/Pirelli tires as the only differences - drives like a very different vehicle - build quality has moved on again, handling seems more compliant (could be just the different rubber).
If anyone has a 2002 and has been pondering snapping up one of the last 2003s - don't hesitate - you'll love it.
Yes, the 9-5 is getting better all the time. No question.
