...to the battery in the trunk. An isolator is pretty simple to install, but you'll need to run a wire back to the new battery.
I don't think a cap will solve your problem. In fact, a cap has an ESR value, which means it will convert energy to heat- more load on your alternator. In fact, since caps don't really store energy efficiently, they really do little (other than increasing the sales of the shop that sold them).
While you're installing a second battery, I'd consider beefing up your alternator (it will be working twice as hard). Most alternator shops can upgrade to 100 amps or more- no worries.
