Beyond the $5,000 owner loyalty incentive, I wonder what type of additional dealer incentives are available? I recently received an e-mail (dated 7/7/04) from a dealer, in response to my inquiry re a 2004 9-5 demo. I had not indicated to the dealer that I was a current Saab owner, and he stated that he could sell me a new 9-5 Aero at $8,000 below MSRP. The same dealer more recently advertised an internet special of a new 2004 9-5 Aero, fully loaded at a list price of $43,550, for a selling price of $31,425, with this price reflecting owner loyalty and all rebates to the dealer. So, how is this dealer selling at about $12,000 below list price and $9,000 below invoice, unless there is more than only the $5,000 owner loyalty rebate available? Or, is it that there may be higher incentives available on the Aeros, given their higher pricing level than on the Arc?
Also, given that the general impression is that Saab is having problems selling 9-5s, why would they limit incentives to only existing Saab/GM owners, and not including non-owners in any type of incentive program?
