Weird Power steering question Posted by Jake [Email] (#225) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jake) on Sat, 2 Dec 2000 20:51:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
89 900S, 140K. My power steering has been acting funny lately. Fluid level is fine, no big leaks (level hasn't changed in quite a while). When I first start the car up in the morning, the power steering works fine, a bit stiff, but not too bad at all. Driving around town, the power steering works fine. The only problem is this: When I take the car on a long trip on the highway, when I finish the trip on the highway and start using the power steering again (like the offramp, etc.) it has very stiff spots in the steering. Like getting off the highway, I can turn the wheel on the offramp, let go of the wheel, and it will stay in that posistion, it won't straighten itself out at all. It is quite difficult to turn the wheel back to straight. It does both turning left and right. Any idea how I can cure this?
TIA,
Jake
