my research of the archives found several opinions that stated that you don't need to use any kind of sealer at all. The "gasket" is really a neoprene o-ring. The key is to clean off the mating surface with a razor blade so that it is spotless (just like the outside of that beautiful valve cover you have there, Pedro!). Also use a torque wrench, and apply even pressure by tightening gradually in a cross-wise pattern (like you do on a wheel). You also should replace the cam oiler nipples, which is dead easy to do (order the parts from Sobstory). Tap the new nipples in very gently with a small hammer until they are completely seated (the o-ring seal will disappear on each one). Be careful, they are plastic! I just did all this to my 1987 900t last weekend - it was one of the easier jobs I have done. Oh yes, when you remove the spark plug wires make sure you mark the position on the distributor so you get them back in exactly the same way. Have fun!
