1994 900CE, 108K w/ new clutch+ at 98K.
The shifting is getting tough- Getting the reverse clunk. Sometimes trouble finding 1st at a stop. Fluid good (Redline MTL)- motor mounts recently replaced also.
My mechanic took it for test drive- said the transmission was excellent and recommended that I pull the boot and spray some silicone on the ball at the shift base; so I did- pretty much the same feel (boot in leather restoration phase now).
So now I'm looking at three star screws, the base of the shifter and a plastic housing- next step? If I remove the three screws- will the whole thing "spring" on me? Or is it pretty simple to reverse? I suppose I'm wanting to look further down for linage problems?
Advice in this area of the car- common problem- what to look for?
Thanks- Steve
