Yes, it would be impossible to mount the engine transversely in the 900 without some major modifications to the engine bay. You will have to literally change the 9000 engine into a 900 engine, i.e., swap intake manifolds, replace timeingchain/oilpump cover (with built in water pump). You also need the 900 alternator mount, starter motor, motor mounts, oil picup tube and filter mount, and allsorts of other stuff. But as I stated in my previous reply, you already have most of these parts avalible on your 900 n/a engine. This project is realy just short of a complete engine rebuild. I would, in fact, use the opertunity to replace the big-end and main bearings, and piston rings, while you're in there. You will also need to replace most if not all gaskets.
