pin for checking ECU codes Posted by JimBlake [Email] (#141) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JimBlake) on Fri, 31 Oct 2003 13:11:51 In Reply to: Re: 89 16v 900 no spark, no fuel, factry alrm, coil w/amp, Phil, Fri, 31 Oct 2003 09:19:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
That drove me nuts when the car was new. Factory shop manual talked about that connector on the wheel well. But somewhere in volume 0 'news' was an updated circuit drawing with the correct stuff...
Under the back seat, just right of center, there's a black connector held in a steel bracket, facing upwards. Has a black plastic cover on it. It's maybe a 10-pin connector with only a few pins present. It looks a lot like the connectors for the stereo.
The row on the right, 2nd from the back. That's the pin you want to short to ground. I used a wire with a 1/8" female spade connector, because using a paper clip it's too easy to catch more than one pin.
Otherwise, the same procedure is good.
