easy fixes first, but it might be water pump too. Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Wed, 9 Aug 2006 06:23:12 In Reply to: Hot runnin 84T, Max H, Mon, 7 Aug 2006 18:43:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
after swapping out water pump i've noticed dramatic reduction in engine temp.
re climate, given where i live i really agree with your 'two thermostats' theory. As many Saabnet members live in warmer climes, the 82 degree thermo seems to be recommended alot, but its totally unsuitable for northern climates.
Had any cracked heads yet? my 83 900T head cracked one -30 day - jumped in the car at 5 pm, fired it up and drove off - i'm sure if i had let it warm up gently it wouldnt have cracked but the jump from stone cold to some throttle probably did it in.
Keep an eye out for a spare turbo head for that inevitable day... knock on wood
