yes a half a inch is excessive but the stack turns out to be a quarter of an inch. (pic)
if the front stack was removed and the rear of the arm still has the stack then thats affecting the caster, and in which case the car is fine.
if all the shims are gone off the arm (front and back) then there is a need of concern. as it would affect the camber in a big degree.
telling anyone the car has a problem, and in-order to compensate the camber needed to be at its fullest degree. in order for help to be giving all the info needs to be told about the stacks (front and rear)
when you said the stacks or stack are missing, i was under the assumption it was both.
if the car dose handle better try a simple test.
with the wheel in the air grab the lower part of the wheel and try wobbling it. if it moves in any small amount (in and out)
it will affect habitability.
(small note. this stack of shims is the amount i saw on all 900.
sedans to 900s to 900t, any less or more a previous owner or shop removed or installed them.)
its common for the driver side to have one side with no shims.
this again will effect the caster and in no way harms the ride of the road wheel.
