I know 14.1V can be considered normal, but when new it was putting out 14.6V - I checked to ensure the install went properly. That little job can be one of the most frustrating adventures on a Saab. The first time I did it (an '85S) it took me nearly an entire afternoon with an awful lot of swearing and scraped knuckles. On this car it was a 20 minute job without any blood. Still some swearing as it just isn't an obvious motion.
I agree about the brushes - I'm always amazed at the height difference old vs. new when I do the switch.
BTW- I do not run any 'exotic' power draws on my CV. Actually, except for some really nice 5-spoke rims it is entirely stock. I got together all the parts to do the 9's engine mod (level one) but decided I not to when fuel went through the roof two years ago. Plus I can up the octane anytime I want and let the boost fly if I so choose - somedays its good to be a chemist ;)
Thanks again!
Tim
