I first used 5-minute clear epoxy to bind the closed cell foam of the dash below the outer plastic layer and really worked it in with my finger tips, so that it penetrates and stabilizes that layer, then I used SEM two-part bumper repair material to patch the crack, followed by sanding the area smooth, Then I a thick coat used bed-liner followed by sanding again (doing this will flatten out the tops of the little blobs you get with bed-liner and re-created the pebble grain leather effect. Lastly, I used vinyl color spray to given it a finishing touch. A incredibly light wet sanding with 2000 grit paper will give the dash the flatter, less glossy look of the original dash.
This sequence was for hairline cracks. For larger cracks, you might want to sand the edges down before using the epoxy. I had pretty good success with this method, although the idea of using Gorilla Glue is intriguing.
