About the only parts an '83 can donate to an '85 are body & suspension parts. Maybe the transmission. The motor and accessories are sufficiently different that you can't readily swap them about. There is no intercooler on a stock 1983 turbo, the FI is completely different, and swapping the heads would be more work than it's worth. Besides, the bottom ends of these motors are relatively more bullet proof, so I can't imagine why you'd need to put the 16v head on the 8v block. If you really need spares for the 16v motor, get another 16v motor. It's easier that way.
