Man, that sucks. Here in AZ, just about every Autozone carries the set-up for obvious reasons. Are you sure they can't borrow the tools from another Autozone then rent them to you?

As for CBS's question. The vacuum pump isn't actually used to collect the old refridgerant. That should be done be a certified mechanic with more equipment than you can rent. The backyard mechanic would just vent the 134a in the atmosphere by cracking a hose. The vacuum pump is used to purdge the system of any air/ contaminents once it's been opened and repaired.
