Thanks again for the info so far. It has always run above halfway up the temp gauge, and on hot days it's run up near the top end of the gauge. I've always stopped if it's looking in danger of topping out, but cooling has been an issue. 90 degree days and plenty of hills in the area mean it's always a test on any engine. I've had that problem in many of the cars I've had, not just the SAABs.
I was kind of afraid that the engine in the car was beyond my financial ability to recover, especially as I'm not quite over the hit of buying that motor and having to pay for some help installing it.
To the best of my knowledge, the approximately 235000 mile mold motor I took out is in better shape than this one apparently is, so what will I need to mate it to this transmission?
