Thanks for the offer on the bolts, but I've got 'em Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Tue, 17 Dec 2013 07:51:27 In Reply to: Re: Thanks, on it!, Landjet [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 16 Dec 2013 20:42:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Fortunately we have W.W. Graingers here in the local area. I had to buy a bag of 50 ($38) to get the 7 I needed, but I am way beyond caring about that, at this point! I just guessed that 30 mm depth was what I needed, so the chart is nice validation.
This is such a bummer. When I did this on the first car 5-6 years ago, I'd harvested the flywheel, bolts etc off a parts car and kept the whole mess together, so I didn't make the mistake (just dumb luck. This time, the flywheel was acquired a couple of years before, so I just used the ones from the autobox.
I even went back and looked at the conversion FAQ and it makes no mention of this - absolutely torture! Doing this the second time, and doing it after having two major surgeries resulting in a 10-level spinal fusion has been far less than fun! I rented a precision right angle drill this AM and picked up a left handed bit and extractor from Grainger's yesterday, so wish me luck!
