I change that pad on all my engines. I also use Sea Foam in the engine, to help with the cleaning aspect, and try to avoid MMO. MMO is a last resort, I would do two oil changes with sea foam, use the directions on the label.
Don't drive the car with MMO. That is used for no load running only.
It will come out black as no moon nights.......I'd do two MMO treatments back to back in the driveway or in the shop, jack the right rear body up to cross drain out all the evil black stuff.
But, I'd try Sea Foam over a period of time, and last resort MMO. Buy a bunch of filters, you'll need them :-)
