Justin is right. And, be through in checking for leaks. I once had a leak that was so massive, soapy wtaer didn't have a chance to bubble. Instead I heard it. Crankcase vent hose fitting was loose in the turbo inlet hose. It probably was not fully inserted to start with. The car ran but had unmetered air issues. Your problem has an answer. It will be the last place you look as always...
