That sounds the old timer I spoke with on the phone. He immediately was like "Yup, not gonna happen." Initially thought it was the chemicals or specialized tanks to plate, but now your comment makes me think it's a preparation issue or a "I ain't getting blamed when I destroy your part trying to prepare it for plating" issue. Bet the folks I left messages with this afternoon are gonna come back with the same concerns.

I mean the grille isn't too bad. I just freaked out a little when I saw flakes coming off like crazy. It's only under the black plastic bit so you can't really see it, just thought it may spread. The more I brush it, the more I find it ain't going anywhere on the surfaces I need it to stay.

I'm also just nuts and VERY particular on the completeness of my resto << this comes from the guy that was under his C900 with a tiny artist paint brush patching up sections of paint to make sure it looks good ... not even joking. Turned out well tho :)
