Mystical stalling - but not the usual suspects - update Posted by ursusskandia [Email] (#2869) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ursusskandia) on Fri, 29 Mar 2024 09:39:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 1990 900 non turbo convertible is stalling right from the beginning, CE light on. I can keep it running for a while by revving but even then it has no power. I have changed the AMM, ICV, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and pump (pump is the expensive good one changed 2 years ago). New Spark plugs, LH control box, coil and ignition amp. I even changed the injectors, oxygen sensor and the NTC thermosensor!
I have loads of fuel pressure (checked by loosening the banjo nut) and spark. Air filter looks good.
So now I have done everything my experience told me could be the problem. Still exactly the same stalling.
It must be something unusual and exotic. The car always parks in the garage, I don't drive it much and never in the winter salt. The fuel is max 5 months old.
Please, dear community do you have any ideas? I'm desperate - anything would help.
PS: Internal fault code blinking says different versions of "air/fuel ratio wrong.
UPDATE: I found at least one severe cause: I have been sold a Lucas oxygen sensor! After changing it to the right Bosch one the car drives better than ever before, with full power - but the check engine light still keeps on mocking me by not turning off. Tried with different AMM's and the light turns off for a short while but keeps turning on again.
