i just replaced my master and slave and bearing, and the slave turned out to leak fluid under pressure (will have to redo the job), but for the most part it works fine, leaks fluid but doesn't seem to suck air except occasionally, anyway, the pedal is very firm, maybe 1 inch of travel, which i'm told is normal to prevent clutch wear from resting your foot on the pedal. i'm guessing if it's different than it was before you had the car fixed, there is a problem somewhere, which is probably air in the line, or getting into the line.
my deficient slave will stay firm, then suck a little air now and then which results in more pedal travel, then it will hold seal and seem to re-pressurize itself and i'll have a firm pedal again. sometimes it just stays firm while fluid leaks out of the bell housing.
bizarre, i'd bleed again and good luck.
just try with a friend.
push on the clutch pedal to the floor
have a friend or partner release bleeder screw and watch air/fluid spritz out, then tighten immediately, then when you get the ok, release the pedal and repeat
just like old-fashioned brake bleeding
i've used this method with excellent success at getting a very firm pedal
