Earlier models wear out the firewall. Neither my 88T or 89s have done it yet, though, despite having been thoroughly marinated in road salt.. The 89 turned 250k today, but that's nothing compared to your 380. I've been doing a lot of clutchless shifting with it in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Now that I have the knack, it doesn't seem to stress things, and it certainly gives the clutch pedal a break.
Hope the epoxy works for you. If it shears you might add some fiberglass tape.
