It's simple: A 9-5 Aero, preferably in wagon flavor, with 5-speed, although the newer ones ('03-) have a good auto trans setup, too. The sedan's no slouch, either, but it's not the ultra-flexible cargo hauler that a 5-dr 9000 is.
I had that very dilemma several years back when I retired/sold my '93 Aero (5-speed). At that time, I went for a new '01 Aero sedan with 5-speed, and have been very, very pleased with that decision. It's gobs more reliable and tighter than the 9000 could ever be, and also very, very fast.
