I recently did the same with my 97 CS.
The other end of the cable is there, route around. Mine was not plugged into the radio, so I also had to pull it out.
One of the drawbacks I've noticed is that the changer does not read all CD's well. Many of those I've made on my PC seem to "wear out" to the point where the 625 will not read it. But I can still play them in my Kenwood head unit in my pick up, so if you have the same problem, don't throw them out. Original CD's don't seem to have that problem.
