Thanks for your info Bill. I was under the impression that 85 to 88 9000 Turbos were essentially the same. I know the final drive ratio changrd somewhere but I had always thought the engines interchangable. I will check your parts numbers with my one local dealer but in my experience most stuff for my 86 just shows "deleted" or "unavailable". I hope to look at an 88 tomorrow. Do you know where the parts numbers are marked on the head ?
