Gentlemen, I know this has been asked before but it has actually been asked enough to make the info on this site a bit difficult to meander through. If you have any thoughts please share:
I have a brand new battery in my 96 9000 and yet after letting it sit for two days the battery was completely dead the other day. It charged up fine, everything is working. Now lights were left on, etc. I had the battery checked and apparently it checks out fine still. I've started to look for mystery drains on the system but can't fine any yet. My thoughts bring me to this recent annoyance with the tail lights. When I start the car, the dash shows that the tail lights/brake lights are out (they are on) until I tap the brake pedal. As the car warms up, occasionally when using the brakes, the turn signal or the hazards, the dash image (the little car drawing) will start to flash in rhythm. I've looked at the grounds under the lights and cleaned them though they looked clean (I removed them and cleaned them, btw). If the radio is on, and more prominently if the reception isn't 100%, each blink can be heard through the system. I changed the radio recently but I almost positive this was happening (the startup part for sure) before the install. The bulbs are all newer and the same from one side to the other.
Any guesses on where to look?
Thanks for your help.
Dan
