This pertains to my 5 Dr. 92-9000T.

First the Anti Lock Brake light would not turn off. Soon thereafter the TCS light followed although it did not seem to affect the car’s performance in any noticeable way.

Nevertheless, being reminded of this each time I am in the car was certainly disconcerting enough I decided to contact Dave Ingram albeit reluctantly, knowing whatever I am going to ask is an imposition; who predictably, generously offered his time and knowledge (as always) to help diagnose my car’s problem with his ISAT.

Yesterday I drove by his home which fortunately is not that far away from East Haven (CT) and in no time, after making all the connections to both car and ISAT, we soon learned the error lights were caused by a faulty ALB sensor on my left rear brake.

Needless to say knowing the cause of the problem was obviously reason enough for elation. But to my big surprise, Dave made it even more gratifying by offering to let me have his spare Left Rear ALB sensor for free.

And all I could think off at that moment was that truly he has a magnanimous heart, for in fact this is the nth time he has helped me and is without a doubt one of the reason I am able to maintain our Saabs (92-T w/ 83K & 93CDE w/ 134K).

In any event what I had expected to be a relatively simple operation turned out to be more complex and longer as I was unable to find the connection inside the car.

It was also unfortunate that the TSN archive did not contain any information that could have helped me and is the reason Dave suggested I share my experience here.

The connection as I finally discovered was inside the floor board under the seat carpet (left seat) accessible through a rectangular opening approximately 4”x5” made up of what appears to be a black-colored firm styrofoam like material and is about 7-9 inches away from the sill plate.

There is also another opening, which is much closer to the sill plate and is covered with a white colored plastic cap where another cable goes through.

Seeing this set-up in fact is what threw me off essentially because it made me think that the hole I should be looking for would match this one. It didn’t and why it took me hours to finally make the hook up.

Hey Dave you’re one great human being and truly an asset to us CT. Saab’ers.

Thank you for your help.
