I presume it's a 5-speed. When I first got my 98, I had the same problem. It was actually a combination of bad DI and bad BPC. To complicate things, I had a bad "out of box" BPC at one point. I tried a different "good" DI but it would cut out under load. That DI worked fine on a non-Aero car.
The fuel cutoff is quite a violent shake, the DI cut out, not so much. Either way, I'd do all my testing with the highest octane you can find. Plus, you do need to do some adaptation runs. I find if I drive conservatively for weeks, I may get a single fuel cut if I jump on it.
