You must clean the battery terminals to Shiny/fresh lead surfaces. Heating means resistance /poor contact.
Use sandpaper on terminals and insides of connectors.
92 is an aging car and 'issues' will become more common rather than less. Best to spend a lot of time cleaning ALL electrical connections at one go rather than piecemeaL over the next few weeks or until your patience runs out.
