Engine Builder Broke my Dipstick Tube

on my 96 Aero, I tried to pull the dipstick tube out before giving it to the engine builder so I asked them to take it off. So they left it on in the hot tank and broke it at the base.
It broke at the base where it connects to the metal tube. I think it can be glued back together. Will PVC cement melt-weld the tube back together? What kind of plastic is it?
I see a dipstick tube on saab site but it doesn't have the metal sleve and it looks difficult to press in.
