To my belief, worn valve stems or worn out valve stem seals would NOT use enough oil to make the car seem to be using oil, though I don't know at what clip you are using it.
Also the C900-9000 head design is VERY easy on valves and valve guides, valve oil burning is kind of rare.
Also, remember your cat will kick in once it's warmed up and burn off any oil haze from rings passing oil. But I don't think it could kick in as fast as 15 or 20 seconds. Any thoughts, anyone?
How many miles on the engine, how many miles on the used head?
