My 1991 9000T was totaled last week. Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Mon, 30 Jul 2012 11:58:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The car was parked on the street if front of my house. The lady two doors down drove into the back of it with her minivan. Hit my car hard enough to push it into the back of my 2005 9-3SS that was parked in front of it. The two pieces of good news are that car was hit before I had the pleasure of replacing the ABS pump, which I had planned for the weekend, and Geico says they will cut a check for $5,000 for the car. (The damage to the 9-3SS bumper was $600 - basically a repaint.)
Granted, the car was in good condition, but the money surprised me. I asked about salvage value, and they said $1,100, so it looks like I won't be going that route. A couple of months back, I could have bought another 1991 with a bad tranmission for $900, but I am pretty sure the neighborhood association would have had something to say about a junk car in the driveway. I don't know if I should look around for a used 9000, or just move on.
