Why I use 0W-40 in my 9-5. (please chime in)

The reason that I am "stuck" on 0W-40 is after reading many older posts on the 9-5 forum, I have determined that the 0W-40 version of Mobil One is a different formula than the other viscosities. It has something to do with the manufacturing process that the 0w-40 weight is complicated to manufacture. The other viscosities use a lower cost production, something about cracking a petroleum based oil molecule as opposed to using a PAO based oil. Supposedly the 0-W-40 uses a PAO base because the extreme range is not attainable with cracking.
I would love to hear from someone who knows this stuff. See link to Mobil double-talk.
