Testament to Saab engines - items found during repair

So, I'm continuing the head gasket work on my '98CSE and I've found the following: broken timing chain guide on tensioner side, loose head bolts, broken t-stat (just found this one), serp belt tensioner with a failed bushing, serp belt tensioner pulley that had a large section gone (about 1" on one side). This engine ran fairly strong, although I'm pretty sure power was down considerably, and never ran hot (owe that to the broken t-stat). I'm very glad the chain guide never caused a problem. I've tested the valves to see if leak past the seats and they look good so I'm just going to have a machine shop clean it up and surface it.
One problem that is evading my fixing it is the b-shaft chain idler pulley screw. The head is screwed up now and I've tried extracting it with the drill bit/extractor method and this isn't working. Either I'm not getting the drill bit deep enough (plus I think I'm off center due to the lack of room even though I bought a right angle drill) or I just can't get it with this angle. I'm going to try a different extractor and see how that goes.
