Thanks for the quick response. So, if it were freely moving, you say if I poke something into that curved wall and make it spin to the left, towards the tall open slit, it will keep moving and open up a gap on the right instead, that will vary as it works? It definitely didn't want to easily turn in that direction when I was trying (no movement at all), and the prying I did in what is I guess the wrong direction was only testing, looking for any motion.
At present I have two wine bottle corks in it and the interior about full of that old, slightly oily textured, Gumout. To sit overnight.
As I said, the car when last on the road, about a year ago, had no idle speed problems whatever. Knock on wood, Sleeping Beauty will wake up from her nap with no ill effects. I'm installing one of the two collections of CSE full pressure turbo upgrade parts I've been holding onto, so I'm kind of eager.
