I've done (2) 97 turbo cars out the top. I had to get the alternator oriented "just right" and it comes right out the hole. It's easiest if you remove the MAP sensor, the hose and the hose nipple screwed into the intake manifold. That gives you plenty of room and you won't break it off by accident. The last one was in the middle of winter in the driveway at night. It doesn't take very long if you have the correct sized allen head socket. I think I used a standard "L" shaped allen to break it loose and then made a "shorty" ratchet out of a cut off piece of 8mm allen key and put it in a 1/4" drive 8mm socket with a 1/4" ratchet. It made pretty short work of the project. If you have the parts handy, it's a good time to change the idlers on the serp belt drive also. They're cheap and it beats having to get in there again in six months.
