Where to find Blower Motor Controller Connector? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sun, 3 Jan 2016 12:14:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The blower motor in my 1994 9000 Aero has been acting up for months, not running at lower speeds unless you push the button to increase the fan speed on the Climate Control. Yesterday the blower stopped completely - not good in the winter - so I dug into it thinking that I would change out the blower control module (I have a spare that I repaired with a new transistor) and be done with it. Unfortunately, I found that one of the pins in the four-pin connector is quite charred and the plastic holder is melted away on one corner. I had the exact same failure on my previous 9000, so this is not a surprise. I do not know the age of the blower motor, but yes it's certainly suspect - the previous owner replace the heater core, but no mention of the blower.
Does anyone know where to get the silicone sleeved pin socket and the four-pin plastic holder? I have a similar pin socket, but it is for a much smaller wire gauge, not like the ~12 gauge wire that goes to the blower motor.
