Yeah exactly - no limp home = no backup safety. But actually, a few days after this my TPS issue came back, and without limp home I had to resort to some ingenious roadside repair. AKA stick a paperclip in the throttle arm and hold it at 20% so I could limp the car at a decent clip.
Unfortunately the potentiometer in mine was not up to snuff. Didn't pass any of the bench checks, the ohms were wrong. and all over the place. Upon pulling the pot off the back of the motor it was... crunchy when twisting.
So having some time on my hands I took the TB entirely apart. There's basically, a motor, and a potentiometer. The 7 pin wiring is, two pins to the motor, and 5 pins to I think a double wiper potentiometer. This potentiometer is in a package I wasn't able to find - so no luck on a replacement.
So, I have another throttle body coming in the mail. We'll see if I can marry it up and keep going.
