My '97 CSE is my daily driver and yeah, some parts have become difficult to find (especially body and interior parts, and forget support for the automatic transmission). For some things used parts are the only alternative. However, so far I haven't had any issues finding regular wear items. Recently I bought ball joints and tie rod ends for my '97 CSE, no problem, and consumables like filters and brake pads are readily available. It looks like axles are still available, though I had a spare on hand this time to replace one with a torn boot. It helps though to have another car available for those times when you have to wait for parts.
But more on topic from everything I've read over the years I would definitely avoid any TCS-equipped 9000 unless you really want a world of hurt! The first thing I checked when looking over the 1995CSE that I purchased several years ago was that it did not have TCS.
