From what you are describing TCS could be the least of your worries... A neglected 9000 is a money pit. That’s coming from a happy owner of a TCS equipped ‘93 9000 with 283K on the odometer. :) If you’re adventurous enough to take the trouble of ownership of this beast, just fix the basics and go from there. Mine came with a non-working TCS which was fixed by replacing the often failed purge valve and a reset with a $300 tech 2 clone. A leak from the TCS brake module was then fixed by replacing with another TCS brake module. “Impossible to find”? Maybe. Cost me $45 for a “core” master cylinder bought from a seller on eBay. And no, the ‘93 transmission is not compatible with the ‘94 and later engine, it’s pretty much for the ‘93 only as it comes with taller gears than the older ones, and is physically different from the FM transmissions used on the later models.
