and I must say that I enjoyed my 900 more than the 9000. The 900 felt more solid. It still felt new when I traded it a just under 60K miles for a '00 Audi 2.8 Quattro (beautifull, quiet, refined car, excellent on the highway or just to relax, but it's cramped and not as much fun as a Saab, ah well!). The suspension was VERY stiff, much more so than my 9000, (and I do have an Aero!) but I didn't mind, as the car felt made of one piece as it would go over bumps. The 900 feels lighter and much more agile (more body roll than the aero, but it's still more fun), and high speed stability nearly matches the Aero. The seats are comfy in either car, and for most occasions, the 900 is big enough. My 900 was very reliable (for a saab anyway), my 9000 is causing me some headaches (over 4000$ in repairs in one year) and it feels old and loose, coarse and rough, it squeaks from all over (I'm at 65K miles now). The 9000 is better if you carry passengers very often, but headroom is a problem in the back seat on the 9000 Aero. The front seats are great in the Aero, and the Harman/Kardon sound system is the best car setup I have ever heard, it's truly excellent! The car looks older and feels older than a 900 though, and feels less like a Saab to me, it lacks some quirky features. It is quieter (except for wind noise) and better suited to extra-long trips than the 900, but it is less involving (not by much) and feels big and heavy (my small Audi weighs quite a bit more, but feels more nimble).
It all depends on what you're looking for, but in my case, I truly miss my 900, my 9000 feels old and clunky and unrefined (the butter smooth audi surely has something to do with that- but damn the audi is slow around town) and has me thinking about trading it for a 9-3 (can't wait to have more info on the 2002 model).
Enjoy whichever one you get, that shoudn't be too hard!
