Yes,around 160K's is when it's likely to happen.I actually took mine appart and found the housing of the pinion chewed up,the pinion shaft had no ridges for the different flow routes.Bought a rebuilt rack for $150 and everything worked fine.Now my second 9K turbo has the morning powerman steering.
