Oil changes and motor mount damage

This isn't a problem, just an observation and a question for the assembly:
I changed the oil on my '93 9000 Turbo a few days ago, and I was remembering some posts mentioning that the frequency of needing the lower motor mounts replaced on 9000's may have something to do with the fact that hot oil tends to fall onto the mounts during changes, and degrade the rubber. I kept this in mind as I started my oil change, but as I looked under my engine, I found the drain plug in the rear of the sump, center of car, and the filter in the front, again in the center. Both were nowhere near the motor mounts. I know that the location of the filter has changed from year to year, so I was thinking that a good way to assess the theory of motor mount damage caused by sloppy oil changes would be to querey 9000 owners about the frequency of motor mount changes, versus the model year of their car (and thus, filter location). Anyone want to provide their experiances?
