I've heard about this 'engine fuse box before', it must have been added in 1988, as my '87 has no such beast. :) I too plan to get the Omni Magnum, there is a spot just behind the drivers headlight where it should fit perfectly, which is a great location as it's close to the battery and distributor. Glad to hear you noticed a difference and are getting better mpg!
Jacobs claims that their wires are the only ones which have the boot vulcanized with the rest of the insulation. This means that the boots on each end and insulation along the entire length of the wire are all one piece, and thus provide the best possible prevention from any contaminants getting onto the plugs or distributor cap connections. As to the current carrying properties and interference shielding though, I'm not sure they're any better than your average high quality. However, they do claim their cables have a resistance that's lower than most OE plug wires by a factor of 10 or so. This may or may not apply to Saab however, given the extremely small quantities of Saabs out there, they can generally be excluded from most generalizations. >:-) Don't know of other cars which use French wires.. ? Least I think Bougicord is French..
