I have a 2001 Subaru Forrester, New to my wife, and I have a 90 9000turbo. I use Mobile 1 in the Saab with 188K for milage. I switched to synthetic when I bought it at 144k (No problems, runs like a champ).
NOW... the Subaru on the other hand should NEVER have had synthetic in it at all. It is a quirk of Subaru as opposed to ther cars, in that the seals can not tolerate anything but fossil oil. This I got right from a Subaru sales person during the buying process. Also seconded by a salesperson at an autopart store. It is funny though that when I asked again at the Subaru garage later on, they were not aware of this. My "Roo" has only 1000 miles and is due for it's first change so I'm sticking with Pennsoil and........ "Sally" (9KT) will get her Mobil 1.
