The 9K 5 speed transmission is a huge clunk of metal. It is a far cry from the transmission of a Honda Civic which I used to own and had to replace the clutch. The weight of that tranny was so light I practically used both hands to fit it up to the engine. Remember on the 9k you are prying off from not just one splined shaft, but two. One output shaft from the motor and another on the drive shaft.
If you are doing it in-car, (which I have never done on my 9k. I did remove the powertrain a few times) it's better off removing the drive shaft first. With the drive shaft removed, you're going to have a much easier time fitting up the transmission. because you will be aligning only the output shaft for the motor, not both the motor output shaft and the drive shaft at the same time.
