Which specs? Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 29 Nov 2000 13:07:08 In Reply to: Will I be able to tell I had a valve job?, John Burnett, Wed, 29 Nov 2000 12:55:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 9000 has self-adjusting hydraulic valves. They rarely, if ever, require a valve job. Which specs were failed, and what was the test? If the head was off the engine and the mechanic thought the valves and/or seats looked worn, that I could understand. Was it a leak-down test?
If you truly do have a sticky valve, or a bad valve-to seat seal, you may see a performance improvement. There should be at least some. If it was a big problem, you'll see more performance returned than if it was some minor issue.
Again, what are the circumstances driving you to a valve job?
