I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you a bit about the performance chips. Just about any chip for your vehicle will do one main thing: increase the boost. With any turbo car, boost is key to power and companies upgrade the Saab factory boost controller (APC or Trionic) to allow more boost and produce more power. One key feature to look for (I think all have this) is a chip that eliminates the high RPM boost taper (decrease in PSI at higher RPM). This will really make your car scream. Also, stick with a Saab tuner's products, since they generally know the cars better and will also adjust the knock sensitivity accordingly. It's great to have more power, but only if it's safe power (no blown engines!!).
