as these guys are saying don't sign off any injuries. I was hit bad once and the guy's insurance company dealt with me straight instead of going to through mine. They were squabling with me regarding money and providing me with a rental. When I told them that I was "thinking" of going to a doctor they immediately met my demands to get me to sign off. Remember once you sign off that's it, no going back for further damages. So that's their intention of getting it over with quickly. Also, its good to get a reputable body shop to help you out with this. On non-totaled claims they will see damage you never thought of. Basically mechanical things. Frame, radiator, axles. I think you get my point. Plus you're not paying for it from pocket so they will work for you. I have a friend who runs a body shop and when I was hit I dropped off my car and got it back two weeks later no hassle on my part with insurance co's. You're in the driver seat on this one, use it to your advantage. You're the one who's getting put out, so get compensated.
